Peek at My Week

It was another busy week in the speech room! Check out what we were up to! Maybe it will even help you out with your lesson planning! This post is for my visual people-lots of photos.  I am a little burnt out on writing after all of the evaluations I have going on right now!

The main activity we did this week was Speechy Musing's fabulous Adapted Bird Craftivity! My language groups worked on sequencing, grammar, asking questions, and vocabulary with the fabulous activities included in this packet! I LOVE the real life pictures. Next week, we are going to use Speech Journal to make a narration of the sequenced steps. This is great because then I can save the recording and come back to it later if I ever need any additional data. I hand wrote (in crayon) my younger student's articulation words to save time on the template provided in the craftivity.  For my older artic students, I had them write sentences with their words in and fold them up to hide inside their bird on the bulletin board. We used the Super Duper "R Funny Flips" to create the /R/ sentences.  I love this resource because it provides lengthy sentences jam-packed with the target phonemes (in specific positions) and it includes pictures!  I LOVE how bright the kids birds turned out-they bring a little spring to our chilly WI speech room! Another added bonus, I learned how to use the copier to print on colored paper-go me!

After my artic groups made their bird craft we used the stimuli words on the back with The Speech Bucket's Roll and Color:St. Patrick's Day Freebie .  My  younger students LOVE Roll and Color activities, and I love that it helps us get in a lot of repetitions and keeps their little hands busy! 

I had a kindergartner who has been asking to feed the "Old Lady" so I pulled out an activity I purchased from Jenna Rayburn, "There was an Old Lady: Universal Articulation Companion: Elementary" and we fed the old lady all sorts of crazy L-Blend words! I love doing this because its an easy way to incorporate literacy into therapy AND students easily come up with their own sentences instead of imitating sentences I provide them!

To help get some of the "never-ending-winter wiggles" out we got up and moving with my very own Articulation and Phonemic Awareness Bundle. I love this because it gets kids moving, is an easy way to get a lot of reps in, and targets phonemic awareness skills! 

I purchased a few mulitsyllabic word activities during the last TPT sale and I had the opportunity to get them ready this week! The Multisyllabic Words in Spanish  (by JMV on TPT)activity is in color, but to cut back on color printing I printed it in black and white. The images shown in color are from the Communication Window's Multisyllabic Words Articulation and Language Combo Pack which is full of great activities to target multisyllabic words! 

Last, but certainly not least, I started some spring cleaning and came up with this incredibly simple way to help organize my playdough with the sentence strips (one activity down, 100 to go!) haha
