Where Do Balloons Go? Speech and Language Book Companion

I'm very excited about a book companion that I recently made for the book Where Do Balloons Go? by Jamie Lee Curtis.  I have no affiliation with the author or this book.  This book is a light-hearted story that explores what happens to balloons when they float away.  This 32 page book companion can be used to target a wide variety of language goals/objectives including: verb tense (present and past), answering WH questions, basic concepts (as many, same, different), comparing and contrasting, understanding and using adjectives/descriptors, pronouns, and following directions. There is also an open-ended board game that can be used in conjunction with any of these ready to use activities or to target other speech/language goals that are not addressed in this packet.

Here are some samples from the comparing and contrasting activity. I love that there are several similarities/differences in each pair, and that the students have a visual.  I think visuals are always such a bonus for students! 

Working on grammar can be tedious so I thought the fun balloon clip art would help! 

Here's my attempt at being creative. My "Bingo-like" game, FLOAT.  The packet contains 4 game cards and a page of balloons to "pick" from.  This activity is a VERY fun way for students to work on adjectives/descriptors expressively AND receptively.  From my past experiences children LOVE being the "teacher" and that's exactly what this activity allows for them to do while secretively practicing their language goals!
