Sticky Speech

Flashcards (cringe)....However, I have issues with pulling kids out of class and not making the most of the precious minutes i am taking them SO unfortunately flashcards (cringe) are a part of our daily articulation therapy routine. But before you stop ready this post take a look at what I found at Walmart on Sunday in the "party favors" section...

Did you get as excited as I did?! I bet you did NOT get as excited as my students did today when we used this little buggers in therapy!

Here's what we did....

I printed out several copies of this reinforcer page from Speechy Musing's FABULOUS Winter Themed Speech and Language Packet  that you can find on TPT by clicking the link. I actually purchased the Speech Therapy Themed Packets Bundle (which is totally worth the money-huge time saver!).

Then I used Speechy Musing's Articulation Words By Theme  to quickly find winter themed articulation words containing my students' target phonemes.  For my younger students, I filled in the snowflakes for them and cut them out to save time during therapy.  For my older students, I let them take more ownership of their therapy and choose their own words.

THEN THE FUN BEGAN!

We used our sticky hands to pick up one of our articulation targets, said the word 3 times, then glued it onto our snow globe page! The kids had a blast! It was so fun to hear what they had to say about the sticky hands! :) Best of all, at the end, I had lots of articulation snow globes to fill in the blank spots on my bulletin board.  Plus, the kids like to have their work on display-which isn't always easy in the speech room since most of our work is talking!

Happy Speeching!
