Social Skills Linky Party

Thanks Jenna at Speech Room News for putting together this fun linky party to help share ideas about our favorite social skills resources! Here are a few of my faves.....

1. Superflex Curriculum.  Superflex is more than a superhero, he is a social skills superhero! This should have been on my list as number ONE because it is AMAZING.  If you haven't heard of it you need to check it out right now! Great for elementary-aged students.

2. Whats up? A That's Life Game of Social Language by Linguisystems. Although I am not crazy about the "board game" itself I use the scenario cards very frequently in conjunction with other high interest games for my high school students such as Ipad Apps, Jenga, or Pick Up Sticks. The stimuli cards cover a wide range of topics and skill levels so they can be adapted (I pick and choose what cards to use with what students) to work for a variety of students!

3. Should I or Shouldn't I? What would others think? Middle School/High School Edition.  I don't have this game yet, but I NEED it! If I could only find the time to figure out how to spend my budget money at the high school! (I am adding this to my never ending to do list right now).  Another therapist in our district has it, and I've had the opportunity to check it out and it looks like it would work GREAT for small groups, one-on-one, or large groups!

4. TPT products! I was having a hard time finding social problem solving materials to use with some of my high school aged students so I created a few of my own! You can find those HERE. I used extra care to make sure they don't look "babyish"!

  1. I LOVE Should I or Shouldn't I! It's pretty inexpensive and great for this age. Just preview it because a couple of the questions were a little outside of my comfort zone!
