Shannon, over at Speech Musings, had a WONDERFUL idea for a linky party highlighting our speech room staples! Here are a few of my favorites!
1. Coffee (you know that warm, aromatic, brown stuff)! This is the main ingredient to any good therapy session! Okay I'll share some of my other favorite things with you now. :)
2. My students just LOVE these Articulation Poster for Speech Therapy from Natalie Snyders! On their way out the door, I have them all line up and pick one of the sayings off of their poster! It's great to work on generalizing their skills into a more conversation setting, plus they are fun! Even my students who aren't working on sounds often will stop and say something off one of the posters!
3. These visuals for vocabulary by Jenna at Speech Room News are something that immediately got laminated and hung on my wall. I have them hanging on a ring so I can quickly grab them for a variety of activities!
4. I have had a lot of great therapy sessions with this awesome product from Rachel at Queen's Speech! I use the sentence strips and manipulative cards from structured sentence building to target a variety of speech and language skills!
5, The Speech Therapy Themed Packets Bundle from Shannon over at Speechy Musings is a huge time saver! There are several different themes in here that last the whole year round and each theme has activities to target a variety of goals
Here are a few things that I created that are staples in my speech room!
1. Daily Conversation Starters has been such a hit with all my students! We either start or end the session with the daily prompt! It has been a great way to target a variety of speech and language skills and learn so much more about my students! With 180 prompts, you are sure to learn something about your students too!
2. If you work in a school setting, you most likely have at least one student working on that (sometimes dreaded) R sound! My No Print Interactive /R/ Articulation Story is a great way to add some fun to /R/ therapy at any level! (There's also an /S/ and /Z/ version)!
What are your speech room staples?!
